Psychological First Aid is a humane, supportive response to a fellow human being who is suffering and who may need support’ Inter-Agency Standing Committee 2007

Learning objectives:

  • understanding the research behind psychological first aid
  • psychological first aid action principles
  • about the psychosocial impacts of crisis events
  • how to identify distress reactions after crisis events
  • helping responsibly and self-care
  • how to offer Psychological First Aid, and
  • how to look after themselves when in a helping role

To be eligible to attend this training you will need to demonstrate that you:

  • Will be in a helping position i.e. community leaders, religious leaders and other people in helping positions.
