Psychological First Aid is a humane, supportive response to a fellow human being who is suffering and who may need support’ – Inter-Agency Standing Committee 2007
Learning objectives:
- understanding the research behind psychological first aid
- psychological first aid action principles
- about the psychosocial impacts of crisis events
- how to identify distress reactions after crisis events
- helping responsibly and self-care
- how to offer Psychological First Aid, and
- how to look after themselves when in a helping role
To be eligible to attend this training you will need to demonstrate that you:
- Will be in a helping position i.e. community leaders, religious leaders and other people in helping positions.
