The nominations are now open for the 2017 Queensland Multicultural Awards, and the Queensland Government is calling for nominations for individuals or organisations who are making a significant contribution in embracing cultural diversity and promoting Queensland as a united, harmonious and inclusive community.
In 2017, the theme for the Queensland Multicultural Awards is Creating Welcome, Building Opportunity and Celebrating Diversity. There are six categories open for nominations as well as a special Minister’s Multicultural Award where the Minister for Multicultural Affairs will select a nominee for their stand out achievements
The categories of the 2017 Queensland Multicultural Awards provide for individuals, including ‘under 25’ and ‘25 and over’, local clubs and community groups, community sector organisations, businesses or companies, and government agencies, both state and local, to be nominated for their outstanding achievements in creating welcome, building opportunity, and celebrating diversity.
