Prem Chand Appointed as a Justice of the Peace (Qualified)

Prem Chand Appointed as a Justice of the PeacePrem Chand was appointed Justice of the Peace (Qualified) on 20 October 2023 by the Director and Registrar of the Justices of the Peace Branch.
Prem Chand took the Oath/Affirmation of Office for his appointment as Justice of the Peace (Qualified) sworn in by a Magistrate in his Chambers.
The Honourable Yvette D’Ath certified that on 20 October 2023, Prem Chand was appointed by the Governor in Council as a “Justice of the Peace (Qualified) in the state of Queensland and has sworn or affirmed allegiance to well and genuinely service His Majesty King Charles the Third, His Heirs and Successors, in the office of Justice of the Peace and do right to all manner of people according to law without fear or favour, affection or ill-will and has been issued with a seal of office number 117622. The Certificate was certified and signed by the Honourable Yvette D’Ath, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence and Leader of the House.
Prem Chand desires to serve the Wider Communities in Brisbane by providing the prescribed Justice of the Peace (Qual) services.
Prem Chand migrated to Brisbane on 8 January 1989 with his wife, Madhur Chand and two sons, Priyesh and Pravilesh Chand.

He has dedicated most of his time to Community Services. Listed below are where he served:

• Past Vice-President of Hindu Society of Qld Inc. for 4 Years (1500 members);
• Past President of Hindu Society of Qld Inc. for 2 Years (1500 members);

• Secretary and Treasurer of Saras Wati Ramayan Mandali – For 15 Years now;
• Past Committee of Einbunpin Festival (Held in July Every Year – For the past Eight Years);
• Past Secretary of Indian Cultural Association Qld Inc – 4 years;
• Past Committee of Indian Bazaar (Held in September Every Year – Past Five Years);
• Past 2004 Co-Ordinator of Indian Bazaar – 2 Day open-air event organised by ICA;
• Past 2004 Co-Ordinator of Deepawali Mela – 1 Day open-air event organised by ICA;
• Founding & Past Public Relations Officer of Fiji Australia Club; and
• Founding & Past Assistant Secretary of Friends of Fiji Association Inc.
Prem Chand is helping his son in his Law Practice called PPCS Lawyers in Petrie, Qld 4502.
